A powerful debut from a writer and lyricist formerly active in the Czechoslovak slam poetry scene.
With her first album "Mala by som niečo robiť" (I Should Be Doing Something), poet and songwriter Terez Frecerová transforms the raw intimacy of her writing into sound. Known first as a writer and slam performer, she now channels the everyday ironies, struggles, and joys of life as a woman, mother, and artist into songs that blur the line between poetry, rap, and confessional storytelling.
Minimalist guitar lines meet Ableton-driven textures, creating space for her sharp and honest lyrics. The record was co-produced by Veronika Lečková Seppová (Tante Elze), with additional production from Fvck_kvlt and deadkirby. Rapper Edúv Syn lends his voice to two tracks – reimagined versions of songs from his earlier EPs, now finding new life within Terez’s debut.
The album reads like an open diary and a generational manifesto in equal measure. By weaving together intimacy, satire, and feminist reflection, it continues the thread of her acclaimed book Rapíky mladej matere (Rhymes of a Young Mother, Ursa minor, 2022) – a collection of poems written during stroller walks and sleepless nights. Many of its motifs now resonate again, reborn in music.
