Ivana Mer decided to approach her third studio album Coração (Portuguese for Heart) purely acoustically.
This is an unconventional direction compared to her previous work, where electronic elements played a significant role in her compositions.
She collaborated on the album with renowned musicians such as Ján Kopčák – saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist, and Ján Fiala – vibraphonist, as well as other guest artists like singer and musician Dominika Gurbaľová, who all contribute new musical richness to her songs.
For Coração, she chose a path of minimalist acoustic arrangements, which highlight the depth of the lyrics and create space for the melodic lines of her emotive voice. Coração is not just a gentle song-based album; it tells a story of the transformation of a human heart, which, through a difficult life experience, finds a relationship with God.
