Songs born among children and books.
Children experience fear, loneliness, and conflict, too. Miriam Halamičková, also known as Dievča bez hranostaja (The Girl Without an Ermine), talks to them about these complex topics, using music to give them a safe space to express their feelings.
For several years now, Dievča bez hranostaja has been introducing children to exceptional literary stories in the Artforum bookstore, cultural centers, libraries, and schools. Together, they read, discuss, and reflect. To make sure the children take a piece of the story home with them, every session includes an art project and a song - often written by Miriam specifically for that story.
Over the years, dozens of new songs have come to life. Many children and parents may have already experienced them firsthand. Now, you can play them anywhere: at home, on road trips, in the car, or in the classroom.
Fifteen of these tracks are now being released on CD under the title O deťoch a drakoch (Of Children and Dragons). The physical album comes with a songbook featuring lyrics and chords, and the entire release is also available on YouTube and major streaming platforms.
Nothing would make us happier than seeing these songs live on - keep singing them, making them your own, and weaving them into your own stories.
